SPRnet SDSL Services (SHDSL)

SDSL is ideal for businesses with a requirement to transfer large volumes of data, and unrivalled speed when both uploading and downloading information. It is a Engineer installed broadband service, ideal for businesses that need to:

• Send and receive large files
• Multicast or stream video or audio
• Host e-mail or web servers
• Quickly back-up & restore corporate data held offsite
• Connect to other sites using a Virtual Private Network (VPN)

There are 3 versions available*

• SPRnet  500 - for bandwidth up to 512kbit/s
• SPRnet  1000- for bandwidth up to 1Mbit/s
• SPRnet  2000- for bandwidth up to 2Mbit/s

• SDSL has a 10:1 contention ratio which is lower than that of ADSL, therefore making the service more robust against periods of high network demand

Along with a high-speed connection, BT also provides:

• A single static IP address included as standard (option of ordering additional static IP addresses in order to support web-hosting services)
• Enhanced care support provided as standard (Target: 4 hour response time, and 24 hour repair time)

NB: SPRnet circuits use SDSL technology and are provisioned on a new copper pair that is not capable of supporting PSTN capabilities
